雞粥,炒麵線 Chicken porridge & Fried Angel Hair


前晚放工後忽然感覺身體在微燒中,還有 , 晚餐後看了醫生食了葯, 一早起床身體筋疲力盡, 倦怠之中, 但還要撐著上班呢...

所以昨晚晚餐,唯有煲雞粥和炒麵線,清清的一餐,當減肥好了。
Hack hack hack, still coughing and suffering from a bit of sore throat! Guess you figured that out by looking at my "patient" dinner of chicken porridge and fried mee sua (fine rice noodle).

都的不要浪費大娜姐的模,昨晚放工煮完飯後,立刻再弄一個芝麻杏仁戚風蛋糕來慰勞老公,難得他喜歡嘛 !很香軟綿綿啊 !

More and more chiffon cakes for hubby till he tells me he has had enough, haaaa! This one is sesame seed and almond powder chiffon, very fragrant and OF COURSE very healthy!

焗豬排飯 Baked Pork Chop Rice


我以前曾講過,每次回港都要食至少一次的焗豬排飯 ,可能是童年時代好喜歡食,但又沒有機會常吃的關係吧 !總之,就如回澳門一定食萄國雞飯一樣,管它好不好吃,要去享受一個回憶罷了,何樂而不為 !

當然在這兒也會自煮一餐來懷舊,最重要是囝囡也喜歡哪 !
Whenever I pass by a Hong Kong Cafe here, I will think of this dish. It was one of my favorite dishes from my childhood memory in HK, just like Portuguess chicken rice of Macau. Somehow, I just have to have it once whenever I go back to Hong Kong even now. Unforunately, the quality and the taste is just no longer what it was before, probably because my memory has deteriorated. Nevertheless, I will make this dish for dinner whenever I think about it. Of course it helps tons that my whole family loves it too!

What can you do with prawns? Just to be a bit different, I made drunken prawns and it turned out very sweet and fragrant. Of course my kids LOVED the breaded prawns, who wouldn't? Don't think of the calories, that is all!

越南牛肉湯粉 Vietnamese Beef Pho







囡囡一向都好中意越南菜的Beef Pho,早上問她晚餐要食什麼時,本來說"隨便",但我最怕這種答復,就叫她講淸楚点,結果這個湯粉就是我們的晚餐了!

睇下那些配菜,在芽菜旁邊的不是普通用的Basil,是一種香葉叫Polygonum,多數在煮叻沙有用到的,這些葉是我老公種的,他特別採下來配這湯粉,因為囡囡中意嘛!

Yummilicious pho for darling Britney! Look at the plant, it is NOT basil, it is Daun Kaseum, English name is Polygonum. It is one of the strongest spice in SouthEast Asia, normally used in spicy dips and laksa. Daddy Dearest harvested his plant for his darling's dinner, a reward for studying so hard for her A level prelims!
Do pray for her exams which will be on from now to end of November, muack muack!

我的第一個Silicon模 My first silicon mold

really out of practice, the last time I made this was under supervision of my sister Alice in LA, I think that was almost 2 years ago



又是大娜姐的心意!造型好靚啊,唔知点解,我總覺得它像castle,一個堡壘,你地話呢?咦,囡囡剛說好似雪梨的Opera house,又係喎.
用咗嚟整綠茶雪芳蛋糕,我已成大半年無整了,好彩老公話好香好好食,佢還破天荒的再安哥兩塊,受寵若驚!
不過第一次脱silicon模,好驚,要練習多几次先!
If I may say so myself, this green tea chiffon turned out really well. Of course the lovely silicon mold brought over from HK by Angfoo is of excellent taste, needless to say. Then again, this recipe from my sister Alice is definitely good. I was personally taught and demo by her when I visited LA two years ago, and that was the last time I tried it too. I normally do sponge cake and not chiffon, nevertheless, this one is a pleasant surprise because CC loves it. Seldom he likes the cakes that I make except for Baked NY cheesecake or SOME of the mousse cake, but this one, he ate 3 pieces in one go. Guess that is good enough incentive for me to make again and again... till he is tired of it, that is...

AIYO, just found out it was Mrs Leung's birthday was on the 21st...never mind, late is better than never. This dome shape mold was specially brought from HK by Angfoo; so kind of her to hand carry for me. This is the maiden cake from the mold, Gateau de Kahlua et Chocolat!

Harvested those little Thai brinjals from the garden yesterday, so made green curry with them. Talk about fresh, this has to be the freshest, except couldn't rear any chicken in the garden, haaa!

海陸免空晚餐 Surf & Turf Dinner


如果加一只雞腿就可變成海陸空晚餐了,哈哈哈!算了吧,不好笑的。。。這是囝囡星期六的晚餐,我和老公去一個生日派對,超好食耶!

All I need is a chicken drumstick or something that can fly that will complete this military dinner! Not funny? OK, try harder next time.... Served this to the kids for Saturday dinner when hubby went out for a birthday dinner... steak n grilled salmon w mashed n grilled potatoes, yup, I think they enjoyed it!

不要誤會,我沒有喝醉耶,我是在說我的晚餐哪,是螃蟹炆米粉和枸杞醉雞窝啊!

Have not cooked crab vermicelli for a long time till hubby complains, heee... Well, saw LIVE crabs and of course Daddy dearest refused to leave until I said, OK, let's buy some and cook them for dinner... The drunken chicken soup has been on my mind for couple of weeks since I saw a picture of it... tastes ok, and since I used kampong chicken, it is not fattening!

一日一夜的紅豆沙 Red Bean Soup


我不說你都不會信,這碗紅豆沙用了一晚的時間去soak,其實是好正常,但多數soak過夜的紅豆很易煮到開,之後變沙。。。錯了,一早起身煮兩個鐘頭後,打開一看,水同豆一窩,哎, 真素沒辦法啦,我要用來招待大娜姐和Iris啊,怎麼辦???

好我早起身,還有時間,趕快用明火搞搞搞,煮煮煮。。。另煮西米,沒有放果皮,因為不知Iris可不可以食,煮煮煮,終於可以嘍, 挖哈哈........... !
Sago Red Bean Soup.... dessert for Iris and Angfoo... Would you believe that it took almost 24 hours to get this done? Yes, long story and just take it from me, don't believe that it only needs to soak overnight and it can be done FAST, NO WAY!

五穀杏仁刨冰沙 Healthy Soya almond cereal drink


健康又容易,夏天優良飲品!

用了 250ml soya bean, 5 tbsp almond powder and 3 tbsp of cereal powder with lots of crushed ice!

Time for healthy cooling smoothie, and this is made with black bean soya drink, almond powder and 5 nuts powder hailed from Taiwan. Whipped it all up with crushed ice and yummilicious!

印尼叻沙 Indonesian Laksa


真過份,我家好幫手來我家做幫佣已快六年,她竟然沒有煮過這超級好味道的印尼叻沙給我吃,這次我旅行,她煮給家中兩小瓜吃,因剩下一些,我才發現新大陸,好好好食啊!

它是用雞湯做底,似 mee soto,但加椰汁,因受我影響,用一半牛奶一半椰汁,健康多,同本地叻沙不一様是它用雞肉無用蛤,加多多芽菜,超好味
