In appreciation of our backroom staff n their support for the past year, we had CNY dinner with a group of them last Wednesday。 Beng Chye from payment department was seated on my right hand side, and we just chatted, joked and ate the night away in laughter n fun. It is still clear in my mind of all the conversation and even the food we ate.
Fast forward to this morning 11am, I just finished my morning tea with one of my colleagues; on my way back to office, we saw an ambulance sounding its siren driving off presumably to the hospital. In my heart, I was hoping it was not a serious case. During lunchtime, found out that it was Beng Chye who fainted in the office and CPR was performed on him; the ambulance took him away to A&E. Shocked by the news, we still prayed hard that he would be ok. But when I reached office at 2pm, the news of his death took the whole office by surprise.
In disbelief, we all mumbled how life is short, and how he was in the pink of health; and I related the stories he told of his kids, his family, his work n his stress during that dinner. It seemed so surreal.
One thought kept popping up in my mind: Don't take anything for granted...not life, not people, not even your pet. Treasure your loved ones NOW...
"And now, Lord, what do I wait for? My hope is in YOU." Psalm 39:7

ReplyDeleteAs Christians, our hope is in the Lord and we are not afraid of death and we know we are going to a better place. Let's pray for the ones who don't know our Lord Jesus Christ as their personal savior... what a loss!

Was he a Christian? If he was, that means he moves to a news HOUSE(although it's hard to believe such news)!
ReplyDeleteWorry about his family, the children are still small...
Only God is in control of all things, may God bless and comfort his family!
