Mommy Dearest 廚房 - 西式焗薯 Potato Au Gratin




Potato au gratin  西式焗薯


5 russets potatoes
2 onion , diced
1 bell pepper , diced
1 stalk celery , diced
1 cup milk or cream
Salt n pepper to taste
1tbsp garlic powder
250g Mozzarella Cheese ( amt depends on your preference )
2cups cold cut, diced (optional)


1. Boil the potatoes till cooked , peel n slice
2. Arrange all the diced n cut ingredients on the counter w seasonings
3. Alternatively , mix all the uncooked vegetables n seasonings together in a big bowl , not the potato slices
4. Put everything in three portions as we ll layer them
5. To assemble , Use an oven proof casserole , put 1 portion of slices of potato to cover the base, put 1 portion of the vegetables on top, add a bit of milk on that n put in some cheese
5. Then repeat for second layer w potatoes again till you finish all , top with lots of cheese
6. If you put meat inside , layer them as well
7. Bake in preheated oven at 210 degrees n bake till the cheese browned . It should take at least 30 min. If it browns too fast, cover w foil to avoid burning.

@ this dish is great for potluck n party , can be prepared ahead, bake it for 15 min then reheat before serving .
